12-Month Enrollment

1. Do I count a student enrolled at my institution if they are also enrolled at another institution during the same period?

A: While students are unduplicated at the institution level those students who are enrolled at other institutions during the 12-mothn period will be counted more than once at other aggregate levels (e.g., sector, statewide total).

2. If a student was enrolled as Full-time in the fall but then enrolled only as Part-time in the spring do I count them as Full-time or Part-time?

A: They would be reported as Full-time since the student’s attendance status is reported as of entry to the institution for the first full term.

Student Level Reporting Reminders:

  • Students who already hold a bachelor’s degree but are enrolled as an undergraduate for additional undergraduate courses should be reported as undergraduate students
  • Students admitted with graduate standing should be counted as graduate students, even if they are taking some undergraduate courses
  • If a student’s level (undergraduate or graduate) changes during the 12-month period, count the student at his/her initial level of enrollment. For example: If a student is an undergraduate student in the fall and a graduate student in the spring, count the student as an undergraduate student.
  • Graduate, professional practice students (formerly called first-professional students) should be counted in the graduate student enrollment counts.
