Written Rules and Policies Adopted as Required by Article 129-B

Every institution is required by Article 129-B (Education Law §6440(1)(a)) to adopt written rules implementing Article 129-B by amending its code of conduct or other comparable policies. Beginning on July 1, 2016, and every ten years thereafter*, a copy of all of written rules and policies adopted as required by the statute must be filed with the State Education Department (Education Law §6440(1)(c)).

INSTRUCTIONS:

Written Rules and Policies are collected in the IRS Data Exchange (IDEx). If an institution needs to file its documents, we can assign the form to your institution. Please click on the Help button at the bottom right side of the page and submit a request for us to add the form to you IDEx list with the name of the institution and form title, Article 129-B Written Rules and Policies.

You can either upload the specific rules and policies adopted, as required by Article 129-B, or upload the entire code of conduct (or other comparable policies) that include those rules and policies adopted, as required by Article 129-B.  Please note: if you are submitting your institution’s entire code of conduct (or other comparable policies), please indicate in the table provided, the specific page locations for the rules and policies that were adopted, as required by Article 129-B. 

Do not mail the rules and policies to the New York State Education Department.

*Pursuant to Education Law §6440(1)(c), as added by Article 129-B, all written rules and policies adopted as required by Article 129-B must be filed with the Department on or before July 1, 2016, and once every 10 years thereafter, except that the second filing shall coincide with the required filing under Article 129-A.  This means that the next required filing of written rules and policies for both Article 129-A and Article 129-B will be July 1, 2024.
